EXTREMELY FANCY and (I counted) only 193 steps away from the check in desk at the airport!! the rooms were pretty spacious and where actually surprisingly modern and clean with plenty of space to put luggage. our room was on the 7th floor, facing the airport, so we had an amazing view. we also had a minibar in-room which I'll have to say was quite expensive, so we didn't get any. the entire experience was really amazing; it honestly felt like a fancy resort. the only problem I'd like to report was that the elevator was experiencing some issues, and stopped mid route, locking me in there for around 10 minutes. luckily there's an emergency button and the staff were very kind and helped me get out. overall i heavily recommended the hotel if you're not on a budget as it was somewhat expensive.

The reception staff here are absolutely amazing. I don’t know their names, but a special thank you to the woman who worked the night shift on Thursday and the gentleman who worked the night shift on Friday — both were incredibly kind and truly made my stay memorable.

I don’t know about this place man. I’ve been staying here for about seven years each time I pass through Sydney on my way in,or on my way out of Australia. It’s directly across the street from the international terminal. That’s why I stay here. I usually catch my over the Atlantic flight to Sydney then overnight here and then fly my next leg the following day. So as far as convenience, it’s right here. On my way back home, I look forward to the convenience of the location once again, and Smithy’s bar downstairs in the lobby. I usually arrive about five or 6 PM then I’ll go down to the bar and drink a few beers at Smithy’s, and then order dinner. The food is fair. It’s nothing special at all. I could do just as well going to McDonald’s, but the service is always good at the bar. They work hard there. The rooms are small but again that’s OK. I’m not here on vacation. The tech and the televisions is outdated. They’ve got this silly Chromecast where you have to stream from your phone to the television. It’s so outdated. So two stars, one for Smitty’s bar, and one for location. I will say that the rooms are always clean. That’s a good thing. So maybe I’ll give it a third star for that. I don’t know, maybe it’s better to take a Uber into Sydney for 30 bucks Australian and stay near the Opera House or in the CBD area get out and walk around. I’m always too lazy at this point after working in country for a month or more and I just want to get a good night sleep before my flight. Overall, I think this hotel is lame.

This was my first stay at a Rydges hotel, and after staying here, it will be my last. This was honestly among the worst hotel stays I have had to endure in my life. Thankfully, I only had a one-night stay. Google lists this as "posh" lodging. Clearly, Google staff have never set foot in this place. A run-down hostel would be more posh. All of the staff members were angry and indifferent, showing no customer service skills whatsoever. Instead, they all found ways to ignore the customer (doing paperwork and such) when you were in front of them, clearly displaying you are a bother to them, vs the money-generating revenue source that funds their paychecks.

The rooms are nothing fancy but they are clean and the showers are good. This is a great hotel for a 1 night stopover before or after your international flight at Sydney Airport. This is nothing to do with the hotel:- but if you are commuting between the domestic airport to this hotel at night time, you should be aware the shuttle service stops running at 8.15pm and the taxi drivers don't want to take you because it's a shortish distance. We had to beg a taxi driver and offer to pay extra $20 to get a ride to the hotel from the domestic terminal. The hotel's proximity to the international terminal is great, less than a two minutes walk. It has self check-in and you can pick your floor and room at the time of check-in and they have staff there to help you if needed. I recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

This hotel cannot be beaten for location next to Sydney International Airport, and is worth staying at for that reason alone. The rooms are clean, and with everything you actually need, but miss a few things that would be nice. First, whether by design, or sloppy housekeeping our room had only 3 cartons of milk necessitating a trip to reception for more. The television channels are a poor selection, but you can chromecast if you have the technology. The breakfast buffet (7.30am) was OK but dissapointedly only warm. Staff are pleasant. One tip, if you like a good cup of tea, bring your own Teabags.

Would I stay here again, overall yes. Had come from domestic flight for next day international and it was relaxing overall ans smyth service was very good but desert could have waited until actually ready and finished the main and of course warm churrios would be good initially warm at least. Staff in the bar were very good, friendly and professional.
